My Favorite Level 3 Card to get for each Splinter

This one is a little different than my others. While this is absolutely meant for newcomers, these Level 3 cards are NOT on the cheap end, however, they WILL help you significantly in each Splinter in ALL levels, across ALL modifiers, and they are support cards who gain offensive capabilities early on. These are the cards you'll want to rent first when you start to pull in more DEC per win and want some leveled cards to pair with your Level 2 summoners and a few cheap Level 3 Common cards

Fire: Goblin Shaman

Goblin Shaman is a great card which reduces health by 1 for all enemies. At Level 3 though, not only that, but he gains +1 Magic Attack, giving your team even more offensive abilities, and rounding out Fire Splinter with an additional caster. He is one of my favorite Fire Cards to rent at Level 3, and one of the first ones I snag. He pairs well with Serpentine Spy and Cerberus

Light: Divine Healer

A Healer, at Level 3 she gains +1 Magic, if you're seeing a pattern, you're right: Take your support cards and give them offensive capabilities asap. Having a card that attacks AND heals is a significant buff that should not be underestimated. These cards on their own can literally bring you to Silver.

Water: Crustacean King

A Healer, this one's a bit different and gets +1 Ranged, probably because +1 Magic would make him broken with Alric. He's still a very powerful card, just like the other healers, and will significantly help you win battles all the way up to Silver.

Earth: Swamp Thing

In Earth, I've already told you in other articles to get Wood Nymph, but Wood Nymph STARTS with heal and 1 Magic, so she doesn't NEED to be upgraded. This guy however, does, a 2 Mana cost card, he reduces all enemies health by 1 and gains 1 Ranged at Level 3, making him an offensive attacker and a debuffer. Try him out, see how well he works for your team. KEEP IN MIND That Swamp Thing is an EPIC card, and as such, he will require a higher level summoner than others on this list.

Death: Undead Priest

Undead%20Priest_lv3.png
That's right, there's one for every splinter! Undead Priest offers a Health debuff like Swamp Thing and Goblin Shaman, and gains +1 Magic, just like Goblin Shaman. KEEP IN MIND that Undead Priest is Rare, and he will require a Level 3 Summoner instead of a Level 2 Summoner to capitalize on his level three bonus.

Neutral: Chicken

Furious%20Chicken_lv3.png
At Level 3, Chicken gains 1 Melee. This is highly situational due to his very low speed, but a Level 3 Chicken is especially valuable as a free attack on an enemy in Reverse Speed formats. This is the LEAST important card on this list to upgrade, ironically. This is largely due to Chicken's HUGE costs in both renting and buying. Its also due to the fact that Chicken's bonus melee damage is not as useful as a bonus Range or Magic damage on Healers. For many people, a Level 1 Chicken is more than enough.

That being said the Chicken Shortage is real.

These are some of the easiest cards to improve your Splinter SIGNIFICANTLY and their renting costs reflect that.

NOTE: There is no single card for Dragon that has the same effect that these cards do, so there is no Dragon option for this article.
