Hedera Hashgraph has been on a tear this week. At the time of this writing - it went up more than 100%. You may be wondering what's behind this run...well the project is quite solid, however, the rally has to do with GOOGLE's announcement that they will join the Hedera Hashgraph council has put the stamp of approval from a big league on Hedera Hashgraph.
"Google is becoming a member of the Hedera Governing Council, which leads strategic planning for the Hedera network and works to ensure the stability and reliability of network protocols and operations. As part of our council membership, Google Cloud will operate a Hedera network node, and make the ledger data available for analytics alongside GCP's other public DLT datasets, bolstering GCP's position as the cloud provider of choice for DLT networks and decentralized applications," Google announced.
The Google-Hedera relationship is mutual. Hedera has been using Google's cloud services to run its nodes and Google has now realized the value of their platform.
“We initially turned to Google Cloud for its ease of use, networking advantages and overall platform performance,” said Atul Mahamuni, SVP of Products for Hedera. “The Google Cloud Platform was the perfect foundation to help us achieve our goals to bring enterprise-ready DLT adoption at scale.”
Google's involvement in the Hedera's council is going to boost their presence globally.
As some of you may know that we had the opportunity to speak with Mance Harmon, CEO of Hedera Hashgraph, and to explore the idea of whether Hedera is really a 'blockchain killer'. You can read that interview "Is this THE Blockchain Killer? CryptoTapas explores with Hedera’s CEO Mance Harmon."
