OmiseGo (OMG) surged more than 30% in price

By bitcoindelight | bitcoindelight | 15 May 2020

OmiseGo (OMG) seemed to follow the fate of most altcoins, declining in value slowly and steady....since yesterday. Suddenly it popped up in my newsfeed and I was surprised what triggered an increase of 10% out of nowhere. I couldn't find any news, not on Twitter, not on Google, not on all the different crypto websites I usually go to for my own research.

Funny enough, I just opened the charts and watched the price...I couldn't believe it myself when OmiseGo made it up to $USD 1.00 - this was a surge in the price of more than 30% within a few hours, just like this - while Bitcoin didn't make any larger moves to the upside.

A little bit later I found the reason...Coinbase had announced they will launch OmiseGo trading on Monday, 18th: https://blog.coinbase.com/omisego-omg-is-launching-on-coinbase-pro-46849dc228ce

Who is long enough in the cryptospace to remember what happened with the price of Bitcoin Cash back in 2017. Same story, different value though. Bitcoin Cash spiked in price nearly up to $USD 4k before Coinbase suddenly announced that they will start trading Bitcoin Cash. Crypto community was furious back in 2017. So history repeats?!? Too late for me to put screenshots with time stamps together, but it seems we are too busy to take notice these days. Somehow it feels devastating how the big players can easily make more money with moves that are questionable.

Stay safe and take care.

I started mining and trading in 2017, participated in airdrops, hardforks, and ICOs. I spent much time making myself familiar with technical analysis. I like to make people aware of things I am currently doing in the crypto space, projects I am currently spending time on.
