Splinterlands - The damage has already been done and we can only go up from here

In Splinterlands, the amazing play2earn game on the Hive blockchain, the damage has already been done in terms of tokenomics and we can only go up from here. The recent events where another portion of the team was fired, it left us reeling, but the game team and us as a community we refuse to wallow in despair. It's time to dust ourselves off and forge a path towards redemption. And to tell you the truth even if the game would fail with a company behind it, I see a future where the community might take over at some point. I hope this is on the table and if things don't work out with the current scheme, we can flow the game into a true decentralized manner. That blows my mind only thinking about it.

Aftermath

I believe that in the aftermath, the team and the community around the game finds solace in unity. Our community stands strong, ready to face any challenge that comes our way. Together, we will rebuild what was lost and create something even greater. We are all committed in the game, with both our hearts and wallets, thus this game might be too big to fail. With newfound determination and a different long term vision lead by @Yabapmatt, we embark on a journey of growth and resilience. Having a single voice going further and with a different approach could provide healthier tokenomics in the game. Or at least we are owed to give it a try and see how it plays out.

Sustainable tokenomics

Splinterlands took hit after hit in terms of tokenomics as the founders went only after fast gains. But that should be over now based on the latest AMA statements and a new page is written with the aim to improve the tokenomics and regain the trust of the community. The team behind Splinterlands recognizes the importance of a sustainable and fair economy. They have listened and hopefully the will listen in the future as well on the feedback from players and have committed to making necessary adjustments to ensure a more balanced and rewarding gameplay experience, in terms of both tokens and cards assets.

Uptober

In the coming period, we can expect to see updates and changes to the game's tokenomics, proposals and ways to capture more value and translate it as revenue to ensure sustainability. We are still in a bearish market even if Uptober is upon us and that has put a big mark on these events. But as things might improve overall in the market, it could have a positive effect also in Splinterlands. Everything helps, thus let's hope as well that we'll see a bullish trend in crypto as well.

Getting funding in terms of US Dollars instead of residing on volatile crypto is something that should be addressed before everything. Matt committed to look for that and ensure swift sailing going forward. I foresee many ways this can play out, so I am not as much worried on it as there are many paths this project can take and I am sure it will find supporters at many corners. Together, we can rebuild Splinterlands into a game that not only provides entertainment but also offers a meaningful and sustainable play-to-earn experience. The journey ahead may not always be smooth, but with the support and dedication of the community and a different long term vision, I am confident in Splinterlands' ability to overcome current or future obstacles.
