The DAO Treasury keeps on growing and a bull market might impress any investor or participant to the Splinterlands tokenomy. But with that, I think it brings great responsibility and it requires more transparency. A first step to address that would be to add a new Dashboard in Splinterlands to present the DAO Treasury assets in real-time (or near real-time) for SPS Holders to be able to see what assets and the amount they have available to use through DAO proposals.
DAO Treasury Dashboard
The screenshot above is from an older post of mine where I've bundled together the current DAO Treasury assets grabbed from an official Splinterlands post on it. But from that point on, I don't know where I could find any information about how these assets were put to work, provided more gains, or were used for different activities based on DAO proposals. Thus, I think it makes sense to have a Dashboard presenting them.
DAO Treasury Usage
At the same time, it is not clear to me (as an SPS investor and holder) who has access to the SPS DAO Treasury and how the funds can be used from there. Is there a single entity that holds all the power and are we at risk that one day it might run with the treasury assets without any preemptive measures? Are there more entities involved in accessing the DAO Treasury? I believe that we need transparency also on this and maybe this was presented in a past article that I've missed, but would gladly read it if someone can give me any reference to it.
The DAO Treasury is an important factor in the Splinterlands tokenomy and while we are all just looking at our portfolio and assets, we need to expand our views and have a broader lookout at the assets we can control. Each of us is holding "shares" to the DAO Treasury and we deserve to understand who is managing it and in which conditions and also the assets and their numbers at any point in time. Without it is like you going to the restaurant with money in your pocket, but you don't know how much and hope to have enough when the bill is out. We need to know this upfront as it is a factor within the SPS proposals.
