Splinterlands - Beginners guide to get into the game with no investment

By Behiver | behiver | 4 Jan 2024

This week Splinterlands Social Media challenge proposed us as theme to write about "Tips for Beginners". This is a vast domain and one could focus on strategy, on building a deck, on maximizing rewards or different things. I will have a different approach to all of that and focus on how you can get into the game with no investment and build from there. And if you didn't guess that yet, the way to do that is through social media and all the challenges and contests that Splinterlands puts up out there - like this one for example. So let's dive into it and see how you can make it without getting a penny out of your pockets.

The whole concept for beginners to get into the game with no investment is by using Hive social media and earn HIVE tokens from it that can be used or converted later on for assets usable in the game for different purchases. First of all anyone would need a Spellbook, which has a cost of $10. Splinterlands is free to try, giving players a chance to learn the mechanics and begin collecting cards before purchasing the Summoner's Spellbook, but those who do not buy it are missing out on rewards, guilds, tournaments or market action. Thus, the initial energy will be spent in order to purchase a Spellbook with the revenue earns from participating in different Splinterlands social media challenges, but not limited to it.

The funds for a Splinterlands - Summoner's Spellbook can be obtained from the rewards of blogging on the Hive blockchain and actively participating to recurring challenges and contests. Let me enumerate some of those which I believe are quite rewarding and if anyone puts the work into it will surely make it there in almost no time. And as the Splinterlands is a "free to try" game, you will have some subjects out of that for sure.

Splinterlands Social Media Challenge

You can receive a max of 2 upvotes per week, so probably it is enough to limit the entries to 2 posts a week or per challenge. This will provide quality over quantity and allow others to digest and upvote your content.

Splinterlands Art Contest

If you are not much about writing, don't worry as you can do other activities to earn. And if you are creative you can dive into the weekly Splinterlands Art Contest and reimagine or design a new character for the game. The rules here are similar with the Social Media Challenge with the consideration that both contest might be considering when casting the votes. That means that even if you post 2xSocial Media Challenge and 1xArt Contest, you might not get upvotes for all of them. But for sure the other community members will cast votes nevertheless.

Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge

Trying the game you have the chance to participate and see different battles. By recording them you can participate into the Battle Mage Secrets challenge by detailing how you approach the fight and what you could have done better (if you didn't win the fight). Not only that you start earning the mechanics of the game, but writing about it you will also earn crypto.

Splinterlands Additional Contests

Other contests might be rolled out by Splinterlands team and with the Rebellion launch, one of them is the "Join X Contest for a Chance to Win Rebellion Packs". While you earn packs, you can anytime sell them for crypto and use that for other purchases.

Where can you keep yourself updated with the Splinterlands challenges and contests? Well, it is as simply as following the Splinterlands official community and reading the new posts from there - https://peakd.com/@splinterlands. This way you will not miss any opportunities and will be able to earn rewards from writing and use them for in game purchases. So it is that easy, get into the game with no investment... but a little bit of time and work for writing about it (like I am doing in this post). So...hurry up, nobody will do the work for you! :)

Will you rise with the Rebellion?

If not, you still have a chance on it, come and join Splinterlands!
