Most of you will already have completed the Compound COMP beginner lessons already. Coinbase have now added an advanced lesson for $10, plus a further referral commission of $40. This is split to four referrals at $10 each.
The new advanced lesson is based around using Compound with the Coinbase Wallet, and how you can earn interest on it too. You also get a bonus $3 in USDC and all for 15 minutes of learning.
Coinbase starts the lesson stating:

In this lesson, you'll learn how to earn interest by using Coinbase Wallet to supply crypto to Compound. Complete the tutorial and you'll earn $10 in COMP and $3 in USD Coin (USDC). Our step-by-step tutorial usually takes less than 15 minutes to complete.
In Step 1 - Set up Coinbase Wallet on your phone
This was pretty easy to do, especially as I like many of you already had the wallet and can click to progress!
I was then skipped to Step - Ready to earn interest?
Here they detail that to cover the high gas fee for Ethereum, they are going to send you $3 in USDC, click send me some crypto! A little message appears and spins for a bit till this arrives. Note mine took a reasonable amount of time, over a few minutes!
In Step 4 - Tap "Earn interest on your crypto"
You are now ready to use your wallet. So open up the app and got to your portfolio. If it does not show, they suggest you refresh by pulling down on the list of currencies. This still showed as nothing received for me, but this can take up to ten minutes they say! So lets a wait a little bit longer. That 15 minutes to complete, seems to be a a lucky timeline! At this point, whilst still waiting, i check GasNow.org for the Eth gas fees, and they are still coming down, which is great:
And the waiting still continues - 10 minutes past and still no transfer.
I even received 5 adverts for Brave Browser while i was waiting... Which is very rare these days. Their adverts seem to have gone from plentiful to scarce these days, perhaps just a UK thing. Still waiting, meh.
A long, long, time past - and still incomplete.
At this point, I decided to reach out to Coinbase and see if their support would see what is going on. But as we all know, the response times for this are days or weeks! So, i have split the article into two parts. The second parts will hopefully follow on soon!
