Hive is turning 3 in the next 4 days. I came to know about this only from theycallmedan's post. It really gives a great feeling to realize that it has been 3 years since the split. As the post says there is going to be a special power-up day celebrated on the 3rd anniversary which is 20th March. Now, this is the most interesting part for me. I also see there are some rewards given to people who are doing the power-up on that day. But I personally would like to do it because I already support the regular Hive Power Up initiative and have been continuously growing my stake in Hive. I will start accumulating more Hive in the next 4 days and do a decent power-up on the Anniversary date.

During the transition from Steem to Hive, there were so many events and drama that happened and it is good that we are here. People who are new to this blockchain should read some articles to know its history. I did write one article giving a summary of events that happened during the birth of the Hive blockchain.

It was fun reading the messages again from the past to recollect what happened. This is one of the greatest events that the crypto world will remember forever. I'm glad that I was there in this community when all this happened. In the last 3 years, we are able to see where Steem is going because of one person's ego.

I will be writing one more post on the 20th after doing the power-up. This post is just a preparation post. I'm going to be deciding the power-up amount only after 4 days. I personally think that maybe I should go for a good amount because I'm already waiting to complete my goal of 100k Hive this year. That should be a good source of passive income hopefully. I always like thinking big. Only if we think big we would be able to achieve big. There will always be negative things around us but if our thoughts are big, the negative things around us will not even matter.

Even though we celebrate this 3rd anniversary, we all know that the chain had been there for over 7 years now. We only see this transition from Steem to Hive as a matter of full decentralization and the community trying to fight for decentralization. Even since Hive was born, we are able to see so many developments happening on Hive and we are able to build many amazing things on Hive. The blockchain became more like a platform than just a blogging place. People make use of blockchain capabilities to build amazing things on top of this.

The good thing about this move was that whoever wanted decentralization moved away from Steem and continued their journey on the Hive blockchain. Nobody can accept the fact that the funds of top witnesses were stolen during this event.

What does Hive mean to me?

I have been contributing a lot to this blockchain from Day 1. I've been involving myself in more than 15 active projects on Hive doing either development or community building. In addition to the work I do for others, I also have my own personal projects that I'm operating on Hive. Whenever I find some time to spare, I also work on some tools and features for my personal projects as well. I'm sure this is going to be a long-term journey. I'm already part of a few gaming projects on Hive that would go mainstream soon.

I wish I can write a similar post every year seeing the growth of Hive and how it makes me grow personally. I wish the best of luck to everyone who is actively building on Hive.
