The construction of the Junagarh Fort, also known as Chintamani, began in 1589 and continued until 1594. It was built on the ruins of an old fort built in 1478 by Rao Bik, the second son of Maharaj Rao Jodha.

Budowę fortu Junagarh zwanym również Chintamani rozpoczęto w 1589 roku i trwała do roku 1594. Został zbudowany na ruinach starego fortu zbudowanego w 1478 roku przez Rao Bika, drugiego syna Maharaja Rao Jodha.

The fort is located in the picturesque town of Bikaner in Rajastan state in India and is another must-see when visiting a strange country like India.

Fort Junagarh is one of the few Indian forts that has never been conquered, although some sources say that it happened - the Fort was attacked many times, but only Kamran Raza, son of Mughal Emperor Babur, was able to conquer it only for one day.>

An interesting and original protection of the fort against intruders are its narrow corridors. They can only hold one fighter at a time.

Ciekawym i oryginalnym zabezpieczeniem fortu przed intruzami są jego wąskie korytarze. Mogą one pomieścić jednocześnie tylko jednego wojownika.

The huge walls of the fort hide beautiful picturesque buildings, with decorated balconies, with beautiful paintings, wall frescoes, Chinese wall ceramics, windows from different periods and styles.

Ogromny mury fortu kryją przepiękne malownicze zabudowania, ze zdobionymi balkonami, z przepięknymi malowidłami, freskami ściennymi, chińską ceramika naścienną, oknami z różnych epok i stylów.

We will also see mirror walls, beautiful mosaic floors and huge carpets. The Chandra Mahal lunar palace and the Phool Mahal flower palace are noteworthy and worth visiting. Also, the Har Mandir temple cannot be missed on the tour, because it is the place where the celebrations related to the birth of princes and the Maharaja weddings were held.

Zobaczymy tam również ściany luster, przepiękne mozaikowe podłogi i ogromne dywany. Godnym uwagi i odwiedzenia jest pałac księżycowy Chandra Mahal oraz pałac kwiatów Phool Mahal. Również świątynia Har Mandir nie może zostać pominięta na trasie zwiedzania, jest to bowiem miejsce, gdzie odbywały się uroczystości związane z narodzinami książąt, oraz odbywały się śluby Maharadżów.

There are many places with great food. There is a so-called Bhujia bazaar, where you can try excellent Bikaneri cuisine. We can find here a variety of dishes, from many varieties of kachoris and samosas to kulfis and of course bhujias.

Jest tam wiele miejsc z doskonałym jedzeniem. Jest w mieście tzw. Bazar Bhujia, gdzie można spróbować doskonałej kuchni Bikaneri. Znajdziemy tu przeróżne potrawy od wielu odmmian kachoris i samosów po kulfis i oczywiście bhujias.

Bhujia is a cake made of chickpea flour and spices. It consists of chana dal, salt, red chili, black pepper, cardamom, cloves, peanut oil or palm oil.

Bhujia to ciasto z mąki z ciecierzycy i przypraw. W skład wchodzi chana dal, sól, czerwone chili, czarny pieprz, kardamon, goździki, olej z orzeszków ziemnych lub palmowy.

The cake is pressed through a sieve and fried in deep vegetable oil. In much of India, especially in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal, it is a standard accompaniment to any meal.

Cisto przeciska się przez sito i smaży w głębokim oleju roślinnym. W dużej części Indii, zwłaszcza w Radżastanie, Gudżaracie, Maharasztrze, Biharze i Zachodnim Bengalu jest standardowym dodatkiem do każdego posiłku.
