1BTC Project - Shake Pay Revisited

A month ago I wrote a review of Shake Pay.

Everything I said in my first review is true. I like the simplicity of the app. The onboarding is quick, the referal program works well. It has a limited shelf of Bitcoin or Etherium. One twitter user mentioned that this is a feature not a flaw.

It was a basic review but I like the platform and I quickly received $5 CAD from the refferal program. I posted my article on twitter and tagged the company. Shake Pay - who's social accounts are very active - retweeted and thanked me for the review. Due to them applifiying the review I received some mixed feed back.

I was very thankful for one negative tweet I received. He called the review lazy and mentioned some features that I have not heard about. Like Shake Squad, Shaking Sats, and Cash Back. Because of this I went back and looked more into the app, and Michel is correct, I missed out of some good features. One feature I am quickly growing obsessed with.

Cash Back

Shake Pay make the Cash Back program fairly obvious, I just overlooked it because I don't really like digital credit card. This program is backed by Visa. But what I didn't realize is that it is a cash program and not credit. You can load analog currency into the Shake Pay app. Then when you make a purchase through the app you will be rewarded with a few Satoshis. I imagine this works in the same way that PayPal does. Personally I am not a huge fan of digital wallets. I won't be holding too much cash in the app, but going forward -when possible- I will route my online purchases through the Shake Pay app to get some Bitcoin from purchases I was already going to make.

For instance, I am currently paying approximately $40 CAD per month to get the boosted COIN app account. I like the extra layer of fun it gives me. I will now load $40 onto my Shake Pay. With the Shake Pay cash back program I will received 2% back in BTC. I will probably start using this for other online purchases as well. If I am able to, why not get cash back in Bitcoin?

#SecretSats

I haven't received any #SecretSats yet, but from what I can surmise they are onboarding bonuses. The one process I am going through will award me with 1000 #SecretSats. This will come when I make my first Shake Pay purchase.

#ShakeSquad

This is another feature that seems like it would be useful. Not only do I receive BTC for my purchases, but also 42 sats for every purchase someone in your #ShakeSquad makes. Great idea. Unfortunately, I don't have any IRLs that would participate in this kind of program. Maybe one of y'all would like to use it and we can earn together. If you would like to make a shake squad with me let me know. As previously mentioned I will be making several purchase through shake pay each month. So we cab team up and earn.

#ShakingSats

This is my favorite feature. I am so excited when I wake up to use the #ShakingSats feature. Open the app on your phone and literally shake your phone. If you do that you receive 50 Satoshis, or $0.02 CAD. The fun part is that you receive a bonus of 5 Satoshis for each conscutive day you shake your phone. I feel dumb for not figuring this out because the plat for is called SHAKE PAY!

I want to see how high I can get my shaking streak. Even at these levels I will be adding $0.60 CAD per month or $7.20 CAD per year with little to no effort and at $0 capital output. That is also not taking into account the 5 Satoshis per day ramp up. They longer your streak the more you earn per day. I would venture to say that this is a game changer.

Last month I gave Shake Pay a rushed 3 out of 5 stars. Now that I understand the app better, I am obsessed. It went from just another buffer wallet for sketchy apps, to a daily activity, one of my favorite platforms and the most consistent way to add directly to my BTC position.

I happily want to upgrade Shake pay to a 5 star app. If you are in a jurisdiction that allows shake pay you should be using it. It is the perfect platform for the slow and steady mantra of the 1 BTC Project.
