I started in crypto in 2020.
Back then any news moved the price. Any narrative created a wave. DeFi summer hit and you could farm yields that seemed impossible. NFTs came and even the worst jpegs made people rich for a few months. Memecoins turned $100 into life changing money for some people.
Every cycle had something that felt new. Something that made you think this changes everything.
I don't feel that right now.
The market isn't dead. But it feels tired. Like it's waiting for something that hasn't arrived yet. Polymarket is probably the most interesting thing happening right now. Prediction markets are genuinely useful and the volume is real. But it's not a 2020 DeFi moment. It's not sending people to the moon on airdrops.
And airdrops. Don't get me started.
Five years ago you could participate early in a protocol, do a few transactions, and get rewarded properly for being there. Now the criteria are so strict, the farming so competitive, and the allocations so small that most people spend more in gas than they receive. The window closed quietly and most people didn't notice.
Maybe a new narrative is coming. Maybe it's already forming somewhere and I'm not seeing it yet. But I'm not going to pretend the market feels like 2020 or 2021 just because I want it to.
It doesn't. And that's worth saying out loud.
Day 8. Still watching. Waiting for the signal.
NFA. Just someone figuring it out one day at a time.
