Food is very essential for growth and we all have different methods of preparing a particular dish, both locally and internationally.
So today I want to share my methods and process of preparation of Yam and Plantain Porridge.
This is just my method, many have different other methods and ways of preparation.
The simple way and the tedious way, but I believe mine is the simple way of preparation.
Recipes
- Plantain
- Yam
- Crayfish
- Maggi
- Onion
- Salt
- Vegetable leaf or pumpkin
- Pepper
Method Of Preparation
- Get your plantain and yam either from the farm or purchase from the market.
- Peel the plantain and yam, scrape out the outer part of the plantain, this will help it to be soft.
- Cut and piece the plantain into a clean bowl, also cut the yam into smaller sizes alongside the plantain.

pound or grind the crayfish and pepper and set them aside.

Boil a measurable amount of water in a pot, the size that will contain your food well.

Pour in the yam and plantain you cut and piece into the pot and wait for it to boil and steam well.

Add your ground pepper and crayfish, slice the onions, and put as well.

Wash and slice the pumpkin leaf and then add it to the food.
- Add the palm kernel oil to the food after some minutes and wait for it to mix well with the food. You can stir it with a spatula or spoon for it to mix well.
After adding everything, you wait for a while, and then you put down your cooking pot, scoop out your hot and delicious porridge.
It's ready to be served.
