Melting Reality | Audio Driven Mosh in TouchDesigner

Audio reactivity in TouchDesigner starts with dropping in your audio file and importing the Audio Analysis tool from the palette, which breaks your sound into elements like kick, snare and rhythm giving you clean 1 and 0 signals perfect for triggering effects. For smoother continuous motion, the mids and highs work better than kick and snare alone. If your signal is too weak, lower the threshold to pull more output, and if the reactivity is too fast, raise it to settle things down. By connecting the kick or snare into a Count CHOP, you can automatically cycle through videos or images on every beat using a Switch TOP, just set your index to one less than the total number of clips and the beat does the switching for you.

How the above video came out to be:

The video gives a sneak peek at the nodes in use and the most important aspect of the project, which is the audio reactivity and the switching among the videos. That is explained below and it is the same foundation I have used to create multiple videos on my Patreon as well as on Instagram. Below you can also find different versions of the effect. You can download the TOX file from the link below and create your own customizable mosh.
