One of the great inequalities of our modern world is how the work world punishes women who take time off to take care of young children.
I’ve seen firsthand with my own wife as well as other women, how difficult it can be to merge back onto the work highway. It feels very unfair.
Perhaps the post-Covid world, with it greater tolerance for remote and part-time work, will make things easier.
DAO work should help as well, as anyone who can demonstrate value to the community, can get hired by that community.
Hopefully, we’ll look back at this era of “punishing women who prioritize childcare” as anachronistically as we do other things that are better left in the annals of history.
