Monday Stayday

A poem for Mondays off

If you know the feeling
Working the 9–5
Monday to Friday
In
Back out
And in again

Saturday and Sunday
The only weekly fun days
Where work can wait
Rest
Hold off until the next Monday
Then the onslaught
Toil
Snare
Beware

However, it’s the Mondays off
For those in this working bracket
We cherish
Embrace
Push off the mental strain
For we have one more Sunday
One more hooray
Keep the normal work at bay

It breaks the cycle
Permits you to fill in the cracks
That form from the business
Hustle
Ignore
Too busy to fix
Now repairs can be through into the mix

Monday off
A treasure indeed
For we all need breaks
Escapes
A reason to feel free
