Air France - KLM to Cut Over 7,500 Jobs Amid Covid-19 Pandemic

Air France - KLM announced that amid a large lack of demand for air travel brought by the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, the company plans to cut over 7,500 jobs from its French operations over the next three years. Air France will cut 6,560 staff while regional carrier Hop! will cut 1,020 staff.

According to reports, Air France is expected to cut over 6,000 of the 6,560 anticipated cuts by the end of 2022, as the firm does not believe that demand and flight activity will reach pre-pandemic levels before 2024. At the height of the pandemic, the Air France airline alone suffered a revenue drop of over 95%, and lost the equivalent of nearly 17 million United States dollars per day.
