Whooooosh... and like that we nearly missed 2020 - a year that has seen some huge changes to the world of cryptocurrency, from the surge in Bitcoin price, record trades, the emergence of DeFi and DAPPS, and the now heating up of Stablecoins to be utilised as Merchant Payment Systems... there is still a heck of a long way before cryptocurrency becomes a household adoption.
My opinion is as this... We as humans like to buy things, it is in our nature to consume. One huge missing factor for myself is the ability to effortlessly pick up a device and order my groceries in cryptocurrency. The weekly shop for food and products are without doubt amongst the most expensive household spends, other than utility bills and my birthday, and gasoline...
In order for the household to fully accept cryptocurrency then it needs a brave company to step forward and set a retail market milestone. 2021 could see the arrival of the first fully dedicated crypto grocery online retail stores that accept only cryptocurrency as payment. Yes there are a few small operations currently dipping their toes in food items, but nothing on the scale of the huge mainstream companies such as WalMart.
I do not think it should be left to a large multinational corporation such as WalMart to set any Crypto 24/7 Online Grocery Store firsts. This needs to be a president set that is fair and of benefit to the Crypto Community and not to the benefit of the huge profits and greed of the big players that have been marking up the prices of food for decades.
The opportunities are huge... this includes energy consumption all the way to fast food delivery.
