A friend recently recommended I try a new game where I can win NFTs just by agreeing/ disagreeing with a prediction.  I wasn't sure at first but agreed, after all it was free!  All you need is a compatible device and away you go.  However, to claim the NFTs, you do need a MATIC address, just pop it into the profile when you've set up.

Gameplay

Honestly it's really simple to play the game.  You are given a tutorial, but essentially you are presented with a statement about an upcoming sporting fixture. 

Swipe Right (or Left)

If you've ever had the misfortune of that particular dating app, you already know how to play FlipFam!  For those unfamiliar, if you agree with the prediction, swipe it right for 'True'.  Or if you feel like there's more chance of David Beckham doing a poo in the Queen's handbag, then swipe that card left for 'False'.

Each player begins their FlipFam journey with 500 points.  When you play a prediction, you invest the amount of points required to play that card.

After you've played the prediction, your points will be deducted and kept in the pool until the result is finalised. FlipFam will display the trends for that prediction showing how many other players are on your side of the fence:

Those who successfully predicted the outcome gaining a share of the prize pool.  The earlier you play, the more you stand to win.

The majority of predictions are currently related to football (soccer), but I have seen some UFC predictions pop up in the app too, hinting that there are very few limits to the predictions that you may be presented with - which is great if you know nothing about the sport on screen (just keep moving down to the next!)

Who submits all these predictions?

The predictions presented are user created, so you you can even submit your own (if you want).  You could create simple predictions like: 'Man City will beat Bournemouth'; or 'Haaland will score against Bournemouth'.  These are fairly common types of prediction that you will see.  You are more likely however, to get your prediction approved if you add a little creativity.  So why not combine the two: 'Man City will beat Bournemouth and Haaland will score'.

You'll get notified when your prediction is live, and you can even play it yourself.

To keep you supplied with points to play, FlipFam regularly drops in 'Trivia' cards, usually related to recent fixtures:

These are opportunities for free points and FlipFam drops them into the game quite often. If you aren't sure of the answer, well... you have a whole world of information at your fingertips... You could always do some research.

Keeping Track of Your Games

The app has a very convenient History tab which shows you all the predictions you have played, and will show the outcome once the event is over.  Just like candles, Green is good (correct guess) and red is bad (incorrect guess):

NFTs are graded in terms of scarcity, and your chances of winning a rarer item depends on your status within the game. I'm currently a 'Fan' which means my prizes are most likely to come from the 'Limited' pool (although there is a very slim chance of winning a prize above my station!).  To get your hands on a Unique prize, you'll have to be a 'Hero'.

Status

In order to climb the ranks and get your hands on more limited prizes, you have to play and win points.  All players start with 500 points and are designated 'Fan' status.

When you start collecting those points and get to 700, you're 'Advanced'.  Keep knocking them in and get to 1000 you're an 'Expert'.  Showing off and bringing in more points than Man City will get you to Royalty (2500), and beyond that you can achieve 'Hero' status!

It took me a week or so of playing, but I actually really like this game.  It's a re-imagined twist on the sports predictions model and is a lot more fun than a click-bank-faucet.

So if you want something that is a bit like fantasy football, but you can actually win some prizes, then give it a go.
