Although we are still months away from being able to open an NFT art gallery in Upland's West Village, as is my aspiration, I don’t think it is too early to begin taking steps towards building a business plan to capitalize on the opportunity once opening NFT art galleries becomes a possibility in Upland. I think it’s best to be prepared to hit the ground running. The first step towards building a business plan for an NFT art gallery is to understand existing NFT art galleries within the metaverse. I think this an important first step because one can already see entities and projects opening art galleries across multiple metaverse worlds. The most commonly mentioned metaverse worlds I see in NFT art spaces include Cryptovoxels, Decentraland, Somnium Space, and Sandbox. In today’s post I’m simply going to provide a tour of some galleries in Cryptovoxels.
If you take a look at the map of Cryptovoxels galleries you’ll find there are currently 110 NFT art galleries:
If you are completely unfamiliar with Cryptovoxels you might start with this tour of some builds the artist Alotta Money shared with Josie on her Behind the Art podcast #2 (starting about the 56:00 mark). This will give you an idea of what is possible in the hands of a truly talented artist. (A Twitter banner NFT by Alotta Money can be yours for only 8 ETH.)
Ben Roy, who along with co-founder Claire Silver, is currently building Accelerate Art, a digital gallery and artist accelerator program in Cryptovoxels, recently gave a tour of some of the galleries in Cryptovoxels and so a nod to him for some of the ones listed below. I also encourage you to check out Ben and Claire’s white paper on Accelerate Art.
