--Loves Me Loves Me-- Not once more
A splendid selection for you today, lets set out.
YouAreTheSun - Late One Lonely Night
Really pleasant diy tune from this American group of good-taste lofi wonders. There’s some sort of stoned-Beatles vibe about this - there might be a chance that what you’re listening to is the result of a very very late night jam turned into something more serious. Drums have that shitty garage-sound while guitars are pleasantly jangling about being hard-panned. The vocals is the nice take-away. They’re not demanding your attention, they’re just popping up now and again like that old friend you’re always surprised at how much you enjoy running into every time - it warms the heart and hopefully your toes to on these cold days.

I fucking love this tune and the sound of it - don’t get me wrong, the mix actually sounds horrible - but it’s probably the best EVER horrible I’ve heard. I’m not sure how much is on purpose, but I don’t care - I like it even more if it wasnt on purpose. It’s true, no poser crap. Thanks. Solid jangly tune with deep vocals, distant drums and strange synths. I think this is a one mand show? even better <3

Very rarely have I found a band from our times that gives you the feeling Beach Boys gave you, which is the reason for this inclusion! It’s so damn chill. You’ll feel the need get to installing a bathtub for yourself, just so you can put an old boombox next to it and listen to this tune in all your bubbles, holding on to your cigarette with one of those long tweezers that makes you look either weirdly rich or trying to get the most out of your marijuana. Just enjoy this, I’m not gonna talk about it anymore - put it on and go lay down in some lukewarm water.

Damn this is solid! I hate dancing, so I know how some of you all out there feel - but you put something like this on, nobody needs to get drunk or stoned to want to go for it. My girlfriend has always had tremendous taste in finding odd stuff that I’d call old and exotic, which is what I’d descibe this as. It has so much vibe and feel that nothing is going to hold you back. You might not want to put it on at the office - but if you do I’ll bet you a car that atleast 2 people will start shaking something - even if it’s just your boss shaking his fist for you to start taking your annoying accounting job seriously and not play that noise shit when he’s doing math. Fuck him, quit your job and move somewhere south is what this song is telling you - you should listen to it.

Uhhh this is soo soothing - definitely one of the most pleasant vocals I’ve heard ever. It’s like if Mac Demarco was TRULY sexy and not weirdly over-confident (in a good way though - who doesn’t love those moves and jumping off speakers in his boxers?) I don’t have a whole lot to say about this track, just that you should definitely listen to it and I’m pretty sure you’ll have atleast 1 playlist you’ll want to put it on, I know I’m gonna. The aesthetics in the mix are just perfect and then again, with that vocal, come on - if you’re hatin’ you’re deaf.
Pavlove - Savages

There’s something odd about this rather straight ahead western-ish Tarantino tune - comes with a pretty solid montage’ish video that, for a change, is actually working pretty well - you see too many times bands attemption this and it’s just messy and weird in the wrong way, silly maybe is the word. This tune has some sort of strangely epic vibe to it that’s odd for the western/Tarantino’ish styles, which is why I’m intrigued about it - I think there’s a potential that Pavlove will have some pretty interesting tunes up their sleaves in the future.
Troy Meadows - Another Chance

Okay - so before you start this tune and video just hear me out - this I promise you are one of those tunes that you’ll listen to first and think ‘Nah this is not for me’ - on this occasion it’s the fact that Troy lets you wait half a minute before anything comes in - and the first thing you’re met with is pretty generic midi-drums. If you’re looking at the video you’ll also be thinking ‘well this is just the same fucking settings going over and over again’. But I’ll just tell you to stay on the ride until you’re about 2-3 minute into the track and you’ll feel it. I don’t know what got me to the point of waiting so long for me to fully decide on loving this tune, most of the time it’s pretty easy to tell if you like a song or not within the first 30 seconds - I mean, I’m not gonna wait for a minute to take me to a part I will actually like. However, somehow this track kept me waiting, I think maybe it could be my big love for Mark Everetts project ‘Eels’ since I felt a similar vibe in this to some of his more aesthetically “dorky chill” albums. But there’s something in the repetitiveness of this track that I really really love - it’s nice that it has a slightly dorky vibe to the production, because it works in some drony way, and then it comes together with the repeated video - and what I especially like is how the vocals sound so honest especially around 3.20 when Troy is almost ranting, I feel it, it’s right there - as close as something ever gets to you. Thanks Troy

Very cool lofi version of something much Diiv viby going on here. I can’t find much about Bled Tape - I love the name and I love the approach to the simple melodies in the shoegaze kinda way but minimalistic and almost early Arctic Monkeys or Built to Spill kind of way - it’s a nice combo and I’m certainly interested in checking out what else will be coming out on their end.
