Storj is an old project from which I was part of until about 13-14 months ago, when it seemed completely dead. But now they seem to be reinventing themselves.
You guys can make a buck or two with it, the best part there is no real "mining" involved, and the cost of keeping the node working is the cost of the internet that you are paying anyway and the cost of the electricity of the PC you are using. For example, I have a computer and a laptop that are running 24/7 so I basically wouldn't see any difference in the electricity bill.
Anyway, there are few requirements for you to participate and get paid. Here they are:
The project currently is still in beta, so it is too early to say what would be the rewards for sharing your free space. However the idea behind the project is that there are clients that will be paying to use your drive space as cloud storage the same way we are using Google Disk, Microsoft OneDrive and so on.
What gave me the idea for this article was the Newsletter from the guys from "1st Mining Rig" with link to their article with many details about it, feel free to check it here.
Here is the link for the STORJ coin on Coinmarketcap. It is about 10 cents now, somehow it survived the "death" of the first Storj project. Perhaps when the project goes live it will grow. It is currently traded on multiple exchanges, including Binance, Poloniex and Bitfinex, which for me is a good sign.
I hope you guys will find this helpful.
