If you read my last post about micro-earnings, you know I have been testing many websites to find ways to earn crypto without giving away gained crypto on gas fees.
I also pointed that daily claim apps are great for slow, steady earnings, the real money in Web3 right now comes from Testnet Airdrops.
Because testnets use "fake" dummy tokens, you don't pay any real gas fees to interact with them. But when the project finally launches its main network, early testers often get rewarded with real, valuable tokens.
Yup, In this post I have discussed 3 Zero-cost airdrop strategies, which I found while testing crypto websites:
Farming Layer-2 Testnets
New Ethereum Layer-2 networks are launching constantly. Instead of paying mainnet fees, I look for projects in their "Alpha" or "Beta" testnet phases.
Go to a site like Chainlist, add the testnet network to your MetaMask, and use the project's official faucet to get free test tokens. Spend 5 minutes a week bridging or swapping those test tokens on their new decentralized exchanges to register your wallet activity.
Galxe and Zealy Quests
If you are not able to understand the strategy behind testnet, social quests are the next best thing.
Platforms like Galxe and Zealy host campaigns for upcoming crypto projects. You can earn points by doing simple things: following their Twitter, joining their Discord, or taking a quick quiz. Projects take a snapshot of the top point-earners and drop stablecoins or native tokens straight into your wallet.
Engaging in Web3 Social (Farcaster / Lens)
Web3 social networks are heavily rewarding active users.
I spend a few minutes a day liking, casting, and tipping on Web3 apps. Because you are an early adopter of their ecosystem, you naturally qualify for ecosystem drops simply by being an active, real human.
THINGS THAT NEWBIE SHOULD KNOW
Never connect your main crypto wallet to unknown airdrop sites. Always create a fresh, empty "burner" wallet in MetaMask specifically for hunting airdrops. That way, if a testnet turns out to be sketchy, your actual funds are 100% safe.(But don't create wallet reckless, use that single created wallet)
