Will the Metaverse be user or corporate run? How do we find equity?

By steverobert | wealth concepts | 2 Dec 2021

As we see more about the Metaverse, I'm concerned about where it might go.

I like the show UPLOADED on Amazon as an example of where we do not want a virtual life environment to go. In the series large corporations own the worlds and own the materials in them. People pay by subscription and by ads in the world. The system you are in is based on what you can afford.

This virtual world unfortunately works the same way our world works. Those who have money can afford to live better and have more things. In the virtual world things are nothing but 1's and 0's. So should we work to make it better then our world?

In VR the ability to build anything, have anything and do anything should be available to anyone not just those with the money. Elon musk and I should be on a level playing field and can be.

Sounds like the perfect place everyone starts out the same. This is where views will begin to differ.

If I spend time to build things I want in the world, spend my time making things I want and work hard to build a better VR environment. So should  someone who just comes and plays around share in my work and its benefits?

This is an issue in the real world, advocates say that equity is needed for all in the world, that there is race, position, location that lead to inequality. That the system is broke and against certain groups based on their income, race, and where they live. So do we shoot to make everyone equal and take from those with and give to those without? Should we try to equalize the field after the horse race has started?

I think we should work to make the start equal. If we all start at an equal position then its up to us to work to build something better. If we do then we get the advantages that come with that work. We invest our time, efforts and take the risks to make a better place. We can share what we have made with others but that should be our choice. Would l like to see Elon give &100,000 to every person he can until he has $100,000 left to himself, YES.

But I'm willing to bet that Elon will have billions again in a short amount of time and most of those he gave money to will have spent it for short term gains and not long term growth and a future.

My father worked 12 hours days sometimes 7 days a week to make sure his kids had a better life then he had. I think it worked, I got to go to college and get a good job, but I also learned to repair and build what I needed to live. I can repair most things in my house because my dad after working 12 hours would come home and fix things and teach me. Something I didn't appreciate as a youth but now cherish as an adult.

So is what I have part of some privilege or from the hard work and sacrifices of my parents. Should I have to share what I have to raise someone to a higher level, while lowering myself?

So this is issue with our world and soon to be METAverse. I donate to charities, I have endowed a scholarship for college education to give to those that need. I was taught to share and follow a philosophy to donate as much as I can as long as it does not take harm myself or my family. So I put money in investments in stocks, crypto and real estate to have enough when I retire to  live well from my hard work. I sacrifice now for the future. Not doing that would harm my ability to care for myself in the future so not doing so would harm my self and my family so investing come before giving. But if it works I'll have the ability to give more later. So how will we solve this issue in the METAverse or can it be fixed, should it be fixed?

Would love to here what you think should be done? Keep it civil as we all see things from a different view and need to support each other  to get to a better place and not attack each other.
