(updated 16.50 utc 30th june)
Hey fellow wax-blockchaingamers,
this blog is dedicated to the economics of the wax-blockchaingames.
I want to highlight at my first post the tops and flops of the week.
Nr.1 Flop R-Planet
R-Planet's Aether crashed more than 80% from it's recent All time high.
This has several reasons.
Early investors started to cash out aeth to buy into other games.
The new element invention round pumps even more aether per hour into the game.
Except of inventing/crafting there are right now no other ways to use aether in a meaningful way.
Also the big scandal around invention costs being visible on the blockchain and being abused did hurt the game.
One of the biggest reason for its downfall is also the staking other games NFT's.
Small players can do nothing with their aether, but just instantly sell and dump it into the market.
As long as there are no other use-cases for aether for small and big players, aeth might continue to drop even further.
My solutions for rplanet would be to cut aeth-staking pools from other games completely for now.
But that won't happen because companies paid rplanet for that. (There is a rumour that mteora paid 10k?)
Those extra aeth per hour just hurts the overall economy of the game and especially those loyal players and rig holders.
The second rigsale seem's to be a mistake too
Plus
+loyal and engaging discord community, that keeps fighting
+too many have a stake in aeth to let it drop even further
+Rplanet punished the abusers of the invention cost bug
+stopping other games stakingpools could be an easy solution (at least those, wo don't pay rplanet)
Cons:
-whales cashing out gives bad momentum
-more other games are coming into the market right now
-no clear usecases other than inventing
-too much aeth is being produced
-no clear use cases for small players
Outlook:
I expect aeth to drop even further, only 50-60 million aeth inventions could bring the price back for a while.
Swing-trading for those big inventions could give you a few extra-bucks.
I personally wouldnt sell aeth or rigs right now, but also not buy them.
The Devs have to bring more into this game.
Staking other NFT's was smart in the beginning, but the game has grown so much, that it's start to hurt them right now.
2. Flop of the week
Soon, sooner Alienworlds.io
To be fully honest, I want to disclaim that I am one of those AW/TLM Bagholders.
But the last weeks were terrible for loyal AW-Players.
After the update, there were even more bugs/failed to fetch/etc. pp.
The game has become almost unplayable right now.
(a new update hours after the release of this article seems to have fixed this)
TLM has been crashing around 66% compared to wax.
And usdt wise from 0,40 to 0,08.
This price decline is not a surprise at all.
Right now, there is 700.000 TLM being mined in a day.
80% from abundant tools and (nobody knows the exact number) problably 80% mined by bots.
As long as a huge chunk of TLM a day is being mined by bots and instantly dumped to the markets,
the prices will just crash more and more.
The teleport function to binance and TLM being listed there makes it just easier for bot-holders to cash out.
The NFT system is broken at the moment as well. The new oracle system made things even worse.
Or just more visible how bad it always was, you decide.
Daaatz and fedesky made a calculation, where 88% of hourly drops from the oracle went to botnets.
I wouldn't say those numbers are bad, but rather terrifying.
Right now, the oracle distribution has been closed.
So, the devs seem to have listened this time.
In my opinion the devs should close the game, until they have found a sustainable solution to fight the bots.
At least today famous ppl like u55qw.wam got banned for supposedly using bots, but also lots of false positives from the last cryptomonkeys event.
A lot of those false positives are really mad right now.
Plus sides:
+dedicated stakeholder/bagholder communities like GVM
+good longterm outlook on thunderdome, planet binance and fixed tlm supply
+many players
+very cool discord channel and very good mods over there
negative sides:
-way too many bots.
-no clear timelines or communication from the team. Everything is just soon.
-twitter channel is a complete joke.
-reddit channel is unmoderated and abandant.
-it grew too fast, too quick. Growing/teething issues are immense
-nft system seems to be broken completely/unrepairable due to too much NFT's being minted out
-high end mining-tools seem useless against bots.
-no communication at all from michael yeates and the devs. No more AMA's, etc.
-even aw discord staff starts trolling now, lol
-Whitepaper is great, but execution has been poorly the last couple of weeks
-waxgamers seem to have no more patience right now
-Binance listing and teleport makes it too easy for botnet's to cash out.
Outlook:
I personally think prices will crash until bots are gone.
How long will it take? Nobody knows.
It could crash to 0,01 or 0,02 usd. Only planet binance missions could give TLM prices some momentum.
Im still a bullish, longterm bagholder on this.
They say nothing in life comes easy, this truely counts for AW/TLM believers though.
Last words on the flops of the week:
AW and Rplanet have been pulling the whole wax-blockchain up.
We should all not forget that.
Now, while they are failing, lots of promising games rise up and whales/smart players cash out, to buy into them as well.
This is normal and healthy for the overall wax-blockchain economy.
This also explaines both of the huge dumps, to be fair.
Top of the weeks:
1. Novarally.
Novarally has been number1 on the atomichub charts for a while.
Prices for packs/drivers/vehicles have skyrocketed.
Vaaaan has bought in into the game for more than 60k $.
Snaking will start this Friday with 10%, until the end of july.
The test smart contract is already up.
Sammy the Snake does an AMA almost every day.
There is a clear communication and a good white paper.
Small players can play the game as well.
Novarally seems to learn from the mistakes that AW and Rplanet did.
Overall it looks like a very promising project.
But be aware, Hype and FOMO already happened on this one.
Now prices stabilized on a high ground.
It might still be cheap to buy in before snaking starts though.
But you never know. And a good whitepaper/concept can never give you a 100% guarantee on a good execution as well.
Whitepaper: https://www.notion.so/Nova-Rally-Whitepaper-4f3956cb4edf404ea10a8a1f94dfb507
The whitepaper will be updated soon.
2. Top of the week: Oliveland:

This is my personal favorite as I am a huge fan of ecological farming and crowdfunding.
You can buy land for an 100% ecological and sustainable farming project.
It also gives you snaking boosts for novarally
If this project works out well, the idea can be scaled through 3rd world countries and help the world into a much better agricultural industry by empowering consumers and farmers.
If there is another game you want to read about in the next week, write it into the comment section.
So, that's it. If you like the blog, please subscribe, so I dont have to spam this in discord.
If you like it even more, you cand send something to my wam dtstc.wam
I am not a whale, nor do I like pump and dumbs, I am a longterm holder in projects and no swing-trader.
Thank you for reading, if I get something wrong, hit me up and I will correct it.
Sorry for no grammar-check on the first version of this.
Until next time, bye ya
