Hi Friends

Last week, after a long break, I shared a review post of the 2009 movie The Road. As is known, since there are not many social activities during the winter months, it is not easy to find topics to write about on HIVE. For this reason, I want to continue writing movie reviews I watch during these cold winter days. This week's movie review is about a horror movie of Quentin Tarantino of 2005, The Hostel. Warning, this article may contain spoilers :)

I have heard about this movie that was released almost 20 years ago, but I never had the chance to watch it. Instead of watching the same kind of horror movies, I wanted to watch this movie upon my friend's suggestion. The movie was released in the 2000s, when the Saw series had started to become popular. The IMBD score of it is 5.9, which I think is not enough.

The movie begins with the nightlife of three young men who travelled around Europe chasing girls. I can say that the first 20 minutes of the movie contain erotic scenes. For this reason, watching this film with a family may be a bit problematic. The movie is boring up until this point. The main story of the movie begins with these young men settling in a hostel in Slovakia to meet new girls. At night clubs, the three young men hang out with two Eastern European girls they met here. While they think they have seduced these girls, they are actually unaware of what kind of trap they have fallen into. As the three young men disappear one by one, Jay Hernandez becomes the main character of the movie. While searching for his missing friends, he realizes that they have actually been kidnapped by an organization. This organization sells the victims they have kidnapped to people who want to taste the pleasure of killing a human for money. In addition, they have built cells similar to slaughterhouses for killing these people. It sounds very brutal, but there is a high probability that this has been done somewhere in the world.

Jay Hernandez, who finds himself in such an environment, sees the corps of his two friends. Since he is also on the victim list, he is caught and sold to be killed in a cell. From here on, the movie takes on a completely different form. The tension and action increase. I can say that the scenes are no less than the Saw series. Therefore, if you do not like these kinds of movies, do not watch them at all. The thrill in the movie does not end until Jay Hernandez escapes from this slaughterhouse and Slovakia as a whole. The aspect of the movie that I liked the most is that Jay Hernandez was able to avenge his two friends and escape from these oppressors with two fingers cut.

There is also a sequel to Hostel, I think to watch that too. I gave the movie 8 out of 10 (8/10) on IMDB. I hope I will write a review of the next movie I watch and share it with you here. Stay healthy, thank you for reading.
