I stand here in this foreign land, Surrounded by things I don't understand,

A stranger to the customs and ways, Feeling lost in a sea of different faces.

Everything seems so unfamiliar, I'm like a fish out of water,

Trying to navigate this new place, But feeling like I'm in a different race.

The language sounds like a foreign tongue, And the streets are all so twisted and wrong,

The food tastes so strange and exotic, I can't help but feel a bit neurotic.

I try to blend in, to be like them, But I always feel like I'm on the outside again,

The culture shock hits me hard, Making me feel like I'm living in a constant bombard.

But in the midst of all this strangeness, I find something that gives me a sense of sameness,

A common thread that connects us all, A shared humanity that can't be stalled.

And as I look around this foreign place, I see the beauty in the different face,

I realize that though I may feel out of place, We're all just people, trying to find our own space.
