Once upon a time, in a land far away
There lived a chicken, who was quite a lay-about
He'd spend his days lounging in the sun
And wouldn't lift a wing, to get things done
He'd peck at his food, with a lazy beak
And nap on the nest, all day and week
He'd cluck and moan, "I'm just too tired"
While the other farm animals, were all admired
One day the farmer, had had enough
He said, "Mr. Chicken, you need to shape up"
But the chicken just clucked, and rolled his eyes
"I'm a bird of leisure, farm work is not my prize"
The farmer, in frustration, sent him to the coop
Where the rooster ruled, with a strict scoop
But the chicken, he still wouldn't budge
He'd just nap and nap, like a lazy sludge
The rooster, he'd crow and strut with pride
While the chicken, just lay there and sighed
But one day, a fox came to the farm
He snuck into the coop, with the intention to harm
The rooster, he fought with all his might
But the fox, he was just too strong and bright
In the end, the fox made off with the rooster
Leaving the chicken, as the only leader
The other farm animals, they all looked at him with shock
But the chicken, he just shrugged and said,
"I guess I'm in charge, now what's the clock?"
