Slipping, sliding, falling down On ice I try to run

My feet can't find a solid ground It's like I weigh a ton

Metaphors, they come to mind As I struggle with this task

Trying to move forward, but confined My efforts just don't last

Life is like a frozen lake Uncertain, slippery, and cold

Trying to make progress, I ache As my efforts don't take hold

I try to find a steady pace But the ice keeps giving way

My heart begins to lose its race As I stumble and I sway

Metaphors, they can be cruel But they also help us cope

Trying to run on ice, a fool Hoping for some glimmer of hope

But as I lay here on the ground My funny bone begins to tickle

This situation, so profound Is also quite a pickle

For even though I can't succeed In running on this ice I know

that I'll eventually heed And find some other device

Life may be slippery and cold But I won't give up the fight

I'll find a way, new and bold To make my path alight.
