They haunt me with their grip so tight, Dragging me down, in the depths of night.

The images flash, the feelings come rushing, A wave of emotions, so overwhelming.

I try to push them away, to forget and ignore, But they always find a way to come back once more.

They remind me of my mistakes and regrets, The moments I wish I could simply forget.

But they cling to me like a heavy weight, Dragging me down to a darker state.

Yet as painful as they may be, These memories are a part of me.

They've shaped who I am today, In both positive and negative ways.

So I'll face them head-on, these painful thoughts, And embrace them as a part of my past.

I'll learn from them, grow and move on, And let go of the pain that was meant to last.
