As announced by the team, Vela exchange will be hosting an airdrop for public beta participants starting on the 18th of January 2023.
The choice of an airdrop was decided on to incentivize community members and offer something to celebrate for the holiday season.
Before I go into the details, Vela Exchange is a permissionless driven perpetual and spot exchange on Arbitrum built with innovative blockchain architecture to ensure fast transactions, secure trading, and extensibility into additional synthetic options and derivatives.
The vision of Vela is to create a decentralized home for traders to easily onboard, utilize powerful tools, and navigate across chain ecosystems with the best functionality of CEXs and DEXs.
The VELA token is the native token for the Vela Exchange ecosystem and can be obtained by providing liquidity on supported DEXs, through obtaining and vesting eVELA, by purchasing via supported exchanges, or through specific platform rewards.
According to the Tokenomics structure, 35% $VELA is allocated for community incentives with Limited to 5% usage per fiscal year, reserved for LP reward emissions, market maker rewards, beta test rewards, and other incentives.
The qualification and amount of $VELA for incentive haven't been disclosed yet but what is certain is that by actively testing out the protocol during the beta phase, you definitely stand a chance for the airdrop.
On top of the airdrop, some Holiday Gifts in the form of $DXP tokens will be sent to early community members and OGs, as to appreciate their commitment to the protocol from its early days.
