Hello crypto community! As many of you know, Chainlink oracles help provide off-chain data to on-chain Dapps and smart contracts. These data feeds can include cryptocurrency prices, stock prices, weather forecasts, live sports scores and outcomes, and random number generators.

Today, Steelblock handles Chainlink's default adapters, such as HTTP Get, HTTP Post, and JSON Parsing. While most nodes verified on market.link (LinkPool's aggregated source of Chainlink nodes and corresponding jobs) can handle these requests, Steelblock's price is 10% less than the average cost.
Although most data requests can be handled using the default adapters, creating custom adapters has its benefits. Suppose you want to pull data from Coinbase's API. Using the default HTTP Get adapter, you would have to send the full URL to the Chainlink Oracle, taking up space in the transaction and increasing your transaction fee. On top of that Coinbase requires API keys for some of their endpoints which would take up more space in a transaction. These values can be integrated in a unique job to require the minimal amount of data sent in transactions while providing the most impact to you as the customer.
