There has been a discussion about The Valve index and the Oculus Quest which one is the better one for the price
The Oculus Quest would cost you right about 500$ while the Valve index Kit ( Headset, Controllers, Base station...) would cost you around 1000$
The Valve index introduces 144hz refresh rate and high quality graphics but it doesn't have an OLED screen like the Oculus Quest
The Oculus Quest on the other hand offers up to 90hz refresh rate and also good graphics it is a common issue that the headset gives you headaches after a while (most likely the refresh rate fault or the headset itself) The Valve index Having high refresh rate and also comfy padding on the back gives you pure enjoyment for hours. Based on that information the Valve index is already the better option, but it all depends on your budget
The Valve index being a product from Valve is also connected to steam meaning more VR games than the Oculus Quest, the Oculus Quest has its own store.
I must also mention that the Quest is wireless while the Valve index isn't and must be wired to your computer meaning that the Oculus Quest gives you more freedom while playing. Both of these headsets are great, but the Valve index just offers more.
Oculus is also realizing a new headset that is already in production this December which will most likely cost about 700 dollars and have 120 refresh rate
so if you have the money I would just buy the Valve index, but you must know that right now it can take more than 8 weeks to fully complete the order and ship the headset

Valve index requirements:
OS: Windows 10, SteamOS, Linux
RAM: 8GB+
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970+, or AMD RX480+ Available Displayport required, HDMI is not supported!!
CPU: A Dual-Core with hyperthreading or better
USB 3.0+ for the headset cameras
Oculus Quest requirements:
CPU: Intel i5-4590/AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or greater.
RAM: 8 GB or more.
HDD: N/A.
Operating System: 64 bit Windows 10.
USB ports: 3x USB 3.0 ports plus 1x USB 2.0 port.
Video Output: Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output.
As you can see you need a good system to run a VR on your computer.
The Oculus Quest is compatible with an HDMI and is also compatible with IOS, on the other hand, is the Valve index that requires you to have a display port and a good system to run which is a bit of a downside to it.
So based on this info I think you could now decide if you want to buy the Quest or the Valve Index
THE DECISION IS YOURS!
