Sparsity is a must for in-game assets in online games to be of monetary value, especially in the outside world. The idea with Upland is that the players are to be able to sell their in-game assets for real-world fiat currency. But until every property on the planet has been added to the game, there's nothing to guarantee that sparsity. The devs can always open another city. And another one. And another one.
Upland will need a playerbase so large that everything worth owning has been minted in the game, and has an owner, and that there's still demand for all properties in the game. Will we ever get there? It is hard to say. But they playerbase is growing extremely fast right now.
Recently, a new area in Fresno was opened up. It sold out in a few days. So long as the playerbase keeps growing, and the devs can keep up with the supply of new properties added to the game, who knows how far this can go!
It will be fun to be in on the journey. Let's see where this leads!
