Binance has just introduced the Spot Pre-Market trading service

Binance has recently rolled out its new Spot Pre-Market trading service, providing users with the ability to trade upcoming digital assets prior to their official spot market listing. Unlike many other exchanges that rely on derivatives, Binance stands out by offering trades using actual tokens.

This service integrates Binance Spot with Binance Launchpool, enabling users to earn tokens from new projects by staking BNB and other assets. However, only select tokens from Launchpool are eligible for Pre-Market trading. While users can begin trading these tokens right away, certain functionalities such as withdrawals, deposits, and transfers will remain unavailable until the official listing occurs.

Binance will notify users when a Launchpool project becomes accessible for Pre-Market trading, including the start date. During this period, all users on the platform can trade tokens marked as “pre-market,” and this phase will end at least four hours before the official spot market listing, with a separate announcement marking the token’s official debut.

However, it’s important to note that Binance’s Spot Pre-Market service is unavailable in several regions, including the United States, Canada, Dubai, Japan, the Netherlands, Russia, and Spain.

Although the concept of Pre-Market trading is familiar to seasoned crypto investors, it provides them with early access to new tokens, allowing them to explore market pricing and boost liquidity before the official listing.

While other platforms offer similar services, most do so through derivative products. Binance is one of the first exchanges to introduce Pre-Market trading with real tokens, setting it apart.

Other exchanges like Bybit and BingX also offer Spot Pre-Market trading, but they use an OTC model where buyers and sellers negotiate prices directly. On Bybit’s platform, both parties must secure their assets as collateral to guarantee timely payments, with transactions settled in USDT after successful payments, and collateral returned.

In contrast, Coinbase’s “Pre-Launch Market” focuses on trading perpetual futures contracts for tokens yet to be released. Once these tokens are listed on spot markets, the contracts convert automatically into perpetual futures contracts, according to Coinbase’s guidelines.
