Currently, as you are reading these words, your body is doing many more things than you might think it is.
The heart beats continually and pumps the blood throughout the body. The lungs bring fresh oxygen and remove carbon dioxide from the body. Your brain recognizes the patterns of words and understands the message conveyed through them.
At the same time, your eyes adjust to the screen. Muscles help regulate your vision, and the nervous system conveys the information received by your eyes to the brain.
All the time your body works to keep everything balanced. The temperature regulation occurs; energy consumption is performed at the cell level; filtration of your blood takes place in the kidneys. Your digestion goes on regardless of whether you are aware of that process or not.
These activities occur automatically. There is no need for you to instruct your heart to beat and your lungs to inhale and exhale.
It is amazing how much activity is going on inside of our body without us realizing it.
But the list goes on.
Your immune system is constantly searching for harmful objects. At the same time, your brain is receiving data from your environment – sounds, temperature, touch, movement, and choosing what signals should be focused on.
Sitting quietly does not mean doing nothing. Your muscles make small corrections to stay in balance.
The funny thing is that we are aware of our bodies only when there is something wrong. We start thinking about the body when we have a headache, feel tired, or hurt somewhere.
We do not consider all the coordination processes that occur every second.
To understand each biological process occurring in your body is not necessary. It is enough just to realize how complicated your body works and how difficult is for it to function constantly to ensure your life and health.
Right now, you just read an article, but your body does much more than it.
