Today I have another Greek silver coin for you from my collection. This one was minted in 1964, to celebrate the Royal Marriage between Constantine II, thelast King of Greece, with Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark in 1964. The two are featured on the front side which reads "ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΣ - ΑΝΝΑ ΜΑΡΙΑ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ" which translates to "Constantine, Anna Maria Kings of Greece".
The other side features a crowned double headed eagle, symbol of the Byzantine Empire and the value of the coin which is 30 Drachmas. The ring inscription reads "ICXYC ΜΟΥ H ΑΓΑΠΗ ΤΟΥ ΛΑΟΥ " which translates to "My power the love of the people".
These coins have a weight of 12 g, a diameter of 30.3 mm and are made of 0.835 Silver. Just click here if you want to read some more technical details.
Last time I checked they go for at least 10 Euros in auctions, possibly more as I don't care to check. No plans to sell it anytime soon :)
