I just finished watching with my wife all three seasons of Ozark, after about a week. This series was suggested to me by teutonium and I was a bit skeptical at first because the plot didn't really attract me. Probably because I prefer horror and thriller stuff. Not much into crime shit.
Also, I don't like watching anything that is more than 2 seasons long, as I feel too old to go for big marathons to catch up on a series.
Anyways, thanks to our good ol'buddy corona,we had run out of things to watch on Netflix and we had plenty of free time. So, it was either Ozark or any of the crappy Netflix movies we haven't bothered with because they have an IMDB rating of 2. Or less.
We went for the first option, and after the first episode we were instantly hooked!
The basic plot is that Marty, the protagonist, is essentially forced to strike an almost impossible deal with a Mexican drug cartel to wash their dirty money. This, or he dies. And his family. The series follows his journey of diving into deep shit and then in order to get that out that shit diving into an ever deeper pile of shit and so on and so forth.
Honestly, it's quite stressful to watch, especially in the two first seasons. Stressful, but good. The third one is also very enjoyable although it takes a bit of a different approach.
Now, I don't want to say much more, as I will probably spoil the series. Definitely worth a watch if you have no idea what to watch next on Netflix. I will give it an 8/10.
