In my first shitty investment post, I covered a crypto in which I invested and lost a significant amount of money. Today's shitty investment is a bit different though, as instead of time I invested time. But a wise monk once told me time is money so potato potahto.
About something like 1-2 years ago I found out about a site called Trybe. It was something like steemit, but built on the EOS chain. I was a super early adopter and figured I'll start building a strong account and a fat wallet for free just by posting good stuff. Genius, right?
So I followed the plan, posted every day, engaged with the community and the rewards came pooring in. Price wise, I think 100 trybes were 1 EOS or something when I started posting, and everything looked really, really promising. I was 100 % sure I had finally gotten myself the jackpot. I would be the fat whale this time. I would be the one others would say "that lucky motherfucker is rich just because he came first". The one that got early. The one that made a fortune out of literal poop. A growing community, a lively telegram, a very nice and beautiful website etc etc.
So I kept posting and after less than a month I even reached being a top 50 wallet! In the meantime, the price kept dropping and dropping but since everything else seemed good I continued posting and hodling like a fucking loser...
Now, I don't remember when it was exactly but after about 2 months of daily posting the price of TRYBE was pretty much close to zero. I had, actually I still have, 50k coins that when I stopped being active were worth 5 EOS... Just two months before I stopped posting I would had gotten at least 500 for the same stake, so I said fuck it, I lost enough time with this shit and stopped posting and engaging. If it ever starts going up again I will return. As you can see on coingecko it never did https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/trybe
Honestly, I have no idea what went wrong with Trybe. Everything looked so promising but for some reason it just never made it... The site is still operational though, maybe one days it does, although I doubt it as EOS is apparently also dieing.
