This is one of the four pieces I received from my #silvergoldstackers secret Santa a couple days ago. It may not be the one with the highest concentration of silver but it's by far my favorite.
Just look at these two manly dudes doing manly stuff
This Canadian 1 dollar from 1988 is a commemorative coin for the 250th Anniversary of Saint-Maurice Ironworks.
I had never heard of this place before so I figured to ask Chatgbt about it 😂
The Saint-Maurice Ironworks holds a special place in Canadian history, as it was one of the most important industrial heritage sites in the country. Located in the charming neighborhood of Saint-Maurice in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, this ironworks was founded in 1738 by the French government and operated for nearly 150 years until 1883. Not only did it played a significant role in the economic development of Quebec but it also supplied the French army with weapons.
Despite its closure, the remains of the ironworks have been carefully preserved, transforming it into a historical site and museum, which was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada. Visiting the ironworks today is like taking a step back in time, offering a glimpse into the past and showcasing the ingenuity and hard work of those who operated it.
Sounds like a cool place. If I ever go to Canada I'll try to pay it a visit. Maybe even bring my coin with it 😂
On the other side, we have a really beautiful and detailed portrait of our beloved old hag, at the age of 37
Nothing special on the edge
A rather large piece that dwarves modern euros
Purity is at 0.500 with a total weight of 23.3276 g. Not bad!
Overall, a real gem! It's quite shiny with a mirror finish, photos came out poop, I promise you though, it looks way better from up close!
Really happy I own one 🎉
