I tend to think about the future of cryptocurrency and how the world could adopt blockchain technology into everyday practical use. But its something I struggle with. Who wants to spend their Bitcoin? Well, let me rephrase that. Who wants to spend their Bitcoin on something other than having a quarter pound of mushrooms shipped to house thats for sale across the street?
Cryptocurrency definitely has a foothold, and a place amongst financial institutions across the globe these days. But what does that actually look like in the future? Germany's national banks own a healthy portion of Ocean Protocol. As you may be aware, Moneygram is very close to being owned by the good folks at Stellar, who would love nothing more than to incorporate their Lumens into the process of sending and receiving money at storefronts from coast to coast.
The most successful, and widely used cryptocurrencies have their own niche, a useful feature that separate them from all the other coins. Stablecoins' values are "tethered" to the value of a standard or national currency. This makes those coins prominent and gives standard utility that can outlive the currencies they represent altogether.
When it comes to sending currencies, a handful of blockchains excel. You can find easy utility amongst these guys. When i need to move currency from one platform to another, Ill evaluate the possibility of a conversion to Tron, EOS, or to Lumens beforehand. Trons blockchain is so quick, the secondhand platform often has my Tron in its wallet, before my drunk ass can get the page opened. Amd when it comes to gaming, this is a good feature to have. Millions of tron are being burned as a result of gamblers, and the folks patient enough to HODL will someday soon be rewarded hardcore.
When I say that nobody wants to spend crypto, i mean no disrespect. As a gambling man, I kick myself for all the crypto that i've thrown away. Stay away from.the stats page on Betfury.io.This little sucker totals up every penny of crypto you've gambled on that page and politely whispers in your ear what it would be worth today. And this is no plug, but if you're a gambler, and aren't familiar with Betfury.io, i don't know what you're doin with your life.
ATTENTION: YOU MAY NEED A VPN TO FULLY ENJOY THE SITE I JUST TRIED TO PLUG
There is still a long ways for us, as a society, to go before you may see a cryptocurrency adopted to standard use. It was kind of amazing to see Bitcoin adopted by El Salvador as legal tender. But now that I think about it, its kinda like when you use all your nickels to buy a soda at the gas station, you know they dont mind. You wouldn't give those nickels to your drug dealer, Tyrone though. El Salvador is happy to accept any currency in its coffers. Take my advice, everytime you get paid, convert some of your money into crypto, broaden your portfolio, and just hold that shit. When we get further down the road, and all the blocks are mined on the pioneer currencies, the value is gonna skyrocket.
Oh ,yeah, and for the shitbags like me that would rather gamble crypto than save it - YOULL hATE ME LATER!
