Portimão is a port city in the Algarve region in southern Portugal. It is known for the old quarter, the crowded marina and the proximity to many beaches. The Museu de Portimão is housed in a renovated 19th-century cannery, and hosts exhibitions on local history. The Gothic church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição is decorated with decorative ceramics (azulejos). To the south are Praia da Rocha, with ocher-colored cliffs behind it, and the medieval fort Santa Catarina de Ribamar.

The BPM Festival is an electronic music festival which takes place in Portimão, on the south coast of Portugal. The extensive 4-day program includes some of the greatest techno and house underground DJs who will perform on stages near the beach, discos and clubs scattered throughout the town.

Each year the festival also offers a whole series of showcases with the most respected names on the music scene, from record labels to famous promoters and brands. And it is its almost unparalleled lineups that bring dance lovers back year after year.
