Land of work/Terra di Lavoro is a historical-geographical region of southern Italy, previously identified as Campania felix and today divided between Campania, Lazio and Molise. With border changes over the centuries it was a province of the Kingdom of Naples, then of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and finally of the Kingdom of Italy, was suppressed and divided between several Italian provinces with Royal Legislative Decree no. 1 of 2 January 1927 during the fascist regime.

Liburia and Terra di Lavoro
Etymology

The Campania amphitheater of ancient Capua (Santa Maria Capua Vetere)
Originally, before the assertion of the toponym Terra Laboris, the territory was identified by the Latins with the names of Campi Leburini (later Laburini) and Terrae Leboriae (later Laboriae) (see Ferruccio Calonghi, Dictionary of the Latin language Georges-Calonghi. Vol I. Turin, 1960); this could perhaps derive from the name of an ancient population, the Lebori.

Its extension largely represented the territories of ancient Campania, such as the Principality of Capua, the Duchy of Naples, the Duchy of Gaeta and the Duchy of Sorrento. With the advent of Roger II and the conquest of the South, the aforementioned territories became part of the Terra di Lavoro, the main department of the Kingdom of Naples.

Ancient Campania (often also identified as Campania Felix or even ager Campanus) originally indicated the territory of the ancient city of Capua in the Roman period, and later also the plains of the various neighboring municipalities. It was a very vast territory when compared with the other Italic cities of the Roman and pre-Roman periods.

It stretched from the slopes of Mount Massico (in the north) to the south of the Phlegrean Fields and the Vesuvian area. Initially it also included the ager Falernus, then it was greatly scaled down from Rome due to the alliance of the city of Capua with Hannibal.

The main inhabited centers of this historical region were (from north to south) Capua, Atella, Liternum, Cumae, Baia, Puteoli, Acerrae, Nola, Neapolis, Caprae, Oplontis, Pompeii, Sorrentum, Stabiae, Nuceria Alfaterna and Salernum.

Thanks to the fertility of the soil also due to the presence of the Volturno river, it deserved the name of Campania Felix.

Serapo beach is the main beach of the municipality of Gaeta (also awarded the Blue Flag for the fourth consecutive year), about a kilometer away from the city center; its bathing activity flourished from 1926, when the beach on the northern slope of the isthmus of Montesecco was closed.

The fine sandy beach, also called simply Serapo, is also a destination for Italian and foreign tourists, who flock to the bathing establishments throughout the summer.

It is about 1.5 km long and was given, almost entirely, under concession by the Municipality of Gaeta.

The municipal territory covers an area of 72.23 km² and has 25 km of beach and 10 of pine forest. The southern part of the territory (Villaggio Coppola, Marina d'Ischitella and Marina di Lago Patria) is an integral part of the Metropolitan Area of Naples, wedging between the Agro Aversano and the Giuglianese. The name derives from the presence of a castle on the banks of the Volturno river.

The journey (from the Provençal viatge, in turn deriving from the Latin viatĭcum; the latter was the necessary supply for traveling) is the movement made from one place of departure to another distant (relative to one's means) from the first. The trip can be local, regional, national or international. In some countries, non-local internal travel may require an internal passport, while international travel generally requires a passport and a Visa.
