AWAKENINGS GASHOUDER

Since 1997, the Gashouder in Amsterdam is the homebase of our indoor events. We return with a series of massive productions each Easter, ADE (October) and around New Years Eve. Coffee shops are one of the attractions in Amsterdam where nothing is prohibited (or almost), especially for those who decide to indulge in some transgression. Born as typical places of the Dutch tradition where to go for a coffee, have a snack, meet to chat, towards the end of the 70s, these cafes began to take on the connotation that still characterizes them today, that is, of places where with a background of reggae, rock, techno music it is possible to order from the menu marijuana or hashish, often consumed on the spot. Perfectly integrated into the lifestyle of the population, the coffee shops reflect the traditional typically Dutch social libertarianism.
