Visiting the tallest and most historical temple in Cambodia was my first priority when I landed in Phnom Penh. I searched it on internet week before scheduling flight to Phnom Penh. Why one must visit Wat Phnom first in tour to Phnom Penh because the moment one visits the temple, one will get away from the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh city. It offers serenity to tourists. Interestingly, the temple stands on the only hill in Phnom Penh. It was built in 1372.

Since this temple has been reconstructed time and again in different eras, it offers amalgam of different styles and structures. It has beautiful architecture. The Garden is built by the French in the late 19th century.

Some of the notable Statues and Shrines in Wat Phnom
1. Large Bronze Bhudda inside the temple

3. 200 wide foot Historical Clock
