Martvili, kolejką linową do Katedry Martvili-Chkondid - moja podróż po Gruzji
We visited the Canyons in Martvili and what next? We still had some time left, because it was quite early and it was light, and we planned to leave this town the next day.
Zwiedziliśmy Kaniony w Martvili i co dalej? Zostało nam jeszcze trochę czasu, bo godzina dość wczesna i jest jasno, a wyjazd w tej miejscowości planowaliśmy następnego dnia.
We didn't plan to do any sightseeing, because apparently there aren't many attractions in this town apart from the canyons.
Nie mieliśmy w planie żadnego zwiedzania, bo podobno poza kanionami nie ma w tej miejscowości zbyt wielu atrakcji.
We started wandering aimlessly around the city, and our attention was suddenly caught by a glass structure that completely did not match the surroundings. Of course, maps.cz and localization were introduced. It turned out that we were standing in front of the queue. Queues for what? The hills here are not special, a bit like the Beskid Niski Mountains.
Zaczęliśmy się szwendać bez celu po mieścinie, a naszą uwagę przykuła nagle niepasująca kompletnie do całego otoczenia szklana konstrukcja. Oczywiście w ruch poszły mapy.cz i lokalizacja. Okazało się, że stoimy przed wejściem do kolejki. Kolejki do czego? Wzgórza tu niespecjalne, trochę jak Beskid Niski.
But after a thorough exploration of the area, it turned out that on the mountain, which can be climbed or reached by cable car, there is a 7th century Monastery. We didn't think twice - let's go.
Ale po dogłębnym rozpoznaniu terenu okazało się, że na górze, na którą można wejść lub dojechać kolejką znajduje się VII wieczny Monastyr. Nie zastanawialiśmy się długo - jedziemy.
We didn't feel like going up the hill on foot, because we had already traveled over 20 km to the canyons, so we decided to use the cable car. A very pleasant ride for 1 lari per person both ways, so a total of PLN 3.5 for two people.
Nie chciało na się wchodzić na piechotę pod górkę, bo mieliśmy już ponad 20 km w nogach maszerując do kanionów, postanowiliśmy skorzystać z kolejki. Bardzo przyjemna przejażdżka za 1 lari od osoby w dwie strony, czyli w sumie za dwie osoby wyszło to 3,5 zł.
We drove up the mountain and saw the beautiful Chkondid Monastery, with a bell tower and adjacent buildings. The cathedral was built at the end of the 7th century and was built on the roots of an old oak tree. It is still a jewel of Georgian culture.
Wjechaliśmy na górę, a naszym oczom ukazał się piękny Klasztor Chkondid, z dzwonnicą i przyległymi budowlami. Kadedra powstała pod koniec VII wieku, a zbudowana została na korzeniach starego dębu. Stanowi do dzisiaj klejnot Gruzińskiej kultury.
The monastery is the resting place of the Georgian King Bagrat IV. In the main cathedral, which we visited, there are beautiful frescoes from the 14th century.
Klasztor jest miejscem spoczynku gruzińskiego Króla Bagrata IV. W głównej Katedrze, do której zajrzeliśmy zachowały się przepiękne freski z XIV wieku.
Not far from the cathedral stands a miniature stone church called the Cathedral of the Holy Nativity or Chikvanebi Church, and the tall tower that was the place of prayers is visible.
Niedaleko katedry stoi miniaturowy kamienny kościół zwany Katedrą Świętego Bożego Narodzenia lub kościołem Chikvanebi, a widoczna jest wysoka wieża, która była miejscem modlitw.
We also climbed the bell tower with two huge bells and a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
Weszliśmy również na dzwonnicę na której znajdują się ogromne 2 dzwony, i rozpościera się z niej piękny widok na okolicę.
Returning to our accommodation base means, of course, contact with the ubiquitous cows roaming wherever they want and beautiful views of the crystal clear river in Martvili.
Powrót do naszej bazy noclegowej, to oczywiście kontakt z wszechobecnymi krowami chodzącymi gdzie tylko mają ochotę i piękne widoki na krystalicznie czystą rzekę w Martvili.
