Stellar network is an open-source network for currencies and payments, launched in 2015. It use a token called XLM or Lumens.
The software runs across a decentralized, open network. Just like Bitcoin, Stellar relies on blockchain to keep the network synced. But you will soon find that Stellar is much faster and more energy-efficient than other blockchain-based systems.
