In the wake of George Floyd, America and, by proxy, the world at large have experienced a massive wave of oppressive stupidity. Criminal justice no longer applies if your skin is dark enough and you claim to be "protesting." Virtue signaling has replaced honest reporting. Legitimate causes are being overshadowed by a cacophony of demands for full-scale communism and unchecked government oppression of free speech and the right to life, liberty and property. A generation of socially pampered crybaby have-nots are calling for the redistribution of wealth because they are either too lazy to earn their own keep or have been socially indoctrinated into a culture of victimhood that tells them they will never be good enough. The color of your skin is now the sole determining factor in whether you are racist or even capable of racism despite the fact that this idea is itself racism defined. Careers and, in some cases, entire lives are being destroyed by a cancel culture that insists you consume and mindlessly repeat the prescribed narrative perpetuated by nearly every media outlet in existence. Failure to do so obviously means you are racist, sexist, bigoted, close-minded, ignorant, insensitive and bathing in your privilege.
Well, I'm sick of it and I'm not the only one. As a straight white man, I am tired of being accused of racism for no other reason than my genetic heritage. Worse yet, I am called racist because I DON'T care one whit about the color of your skin. The fact that some people descend from an ancestry who lived in a place that is very sunny and thus naturally adapted a greater concentration of melanin over several generations to resist ultraviolet radiation means nothing to me, other than that the human body is an amazingly complex and wonderful construct that is equipped to survive in nearly any environment on Earth. The fact that a handful of my ancestors owned black slaves is not my fault and I will not apologize for actions that were not mine.
If you think I care at all about misgendering, you're going to be disappointed. I don't encourage mental illness. A person who genuinely believes that they are not what all tangible evidence proves that they actually are clearly suffers from a mental illness recognized and documented by the mental health community, so that's what I'm going to call it. You don't do the mentally ill any favors by encouraging their crazy. You would not, for example, tell a person suffering from clinical depression that their life is, in fact, totally meaningless and no one cares about them. That would be bad.
Now, to the point. Society has decided that I'm wrong, that science is wrong, that morality is subjective and yet that I must conform to its moral belief system or I am evil. I steadfastly refuse. If morality is entirely subjective to each person based on individual experience, then instead of chanting "Black Lives Matter," people should be shouting "Black Lives Matter, unless your own subjective morality suggests that they don't, in which case feel free to murder black people with reckless abandon and wanton disregard: you'll be justified by your own moral compass so it's okay." Doesn't sound like a very reasonable position to take, does it?
I got off track. Let me get this train back on the rails. My father-in-law is starting a movement on FaceBook to stand against the communist narrative and racial oppression/division that is ACTUALLY taking place in the world today. Political correctness is destroying free speech. Social justice is systematically undermining real justice. Anti-racism is changing the definition of racism to paint all white people as racist regardless of their beliefs, values or actions. Click or tap here to check out a new movement aimed at stopping the madness. In the spirit of leftist ideology, I'm giving you a trigger warning now: the man doesn't care if you think he's offensive. That's basically the whole point. Take a look if you want.
Thanks for reading and if I upset you with any part of this post, well, get over it because I could not possibly care less.
