As the value of blockchain technology is seen throughout the globe, countries are now deciding to utilize it increasingly. In the latest development, Dominica has chosen TRON to develop and issue the country's first digital coin called Dominica Coin (DMC).

Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit praised the TRON blockchain and how it will positively influence the country's economic growth. He also added how embracing digital innovation is the right step to take for his country.

TRON’s founder Justin Sun further added how exciting the project is and how this project opens doors to future partnerships. 

What is the Purpose of Dominica Coin (DMC)?

The main purpose of Dominica Coin (DMC) is to promote the country's tourism industry. Dominica is blessed with rich tourist attractions and want to share them with the world and DMC can aid in this prospect.

DMC can also help integrate Dominica's developing economy with the global economy. We have seen the economic value of crypto in countries like El Salvador and Central African Republic and it is Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit belief that DMC will provide the same economic benefits.

Final Thoughts

We haven't even started to scratch the surface of blockchain technology and its values so I think this is a step in the right direction. As countries like Dominica continue to adopt this technology, many more will soon follow maximizing the potential of the innovation. There are a lot of work to be done in respect to regulations, education and adoption but it is definitely exciting to see countries utilizing Blockchain technology.
