How Blockchain Technology is Going to Change the World

Many people may not believe it but we are on the threshold of one of the greatest technology disruptions in the world.

The era of centralization which has been marked by the characterization of near-totalitarian control is going to give way to the democratization of protocols, processes, and procedures which is something that the world needs sorely.

The big question though is how will blockchain technology change the world?

This question shall be answered below.

Problems in Centralized Systems are Causing Chaos

Most people may not realize this but centralized systems are already causing the kind of chaos that may take several generations to clear.

From trade standoffs to fiat currency manipulations to outright economic destabilization, these trends have been occurring on a global scale and this has also created a situation where nothing is assured.

Trust as a concept has been destroyed and this is the fundamental requirement for progress.

The only way out for solutions to be found in such an environment where everything is now open is to implement Decentralized Ledger Technologies (DLT) such as Blockchain Technology that will provide the solution to the global quagmire currently occurring in the world at the moment.

One such example where blockchain technology has become the shining light on a global scale is the recent mining and metals blockchain initiative by the members of the World economic forum that can enable the ethical sourcing of metals and minerals thus reducing the global resource-based conflicts currently occurring in the world today.

Decentralized Systems Reduce the Cost of Operations for Ledger Systems

As we all know, centralized systems come with all kinds of costs which are extremely enormous for any entity, be it government, people, organizations or even businesses.

This has led to a situation where the implementation of data-based systems is incongruent with actual progress on the ground.

Blockchain technology, on the other hand, requires far less cost when it comes to implementation.

This is because the use of advanced cryptography in developing blockchain systems requires little or no effort for the maintenance of the security of the blockchain.

The random factor required in data storage assists the security implementation set forth especially when the nodes that maintain the blockchain and verify the data are actively working to keep the blockchain working.

One example where blockchain technology has reduced costs is in the implementation of the logistics system of Walmart Canada.

Walmart implemented an end-to-end blockchain solution that provides and stores real-time data into a blockchain rather than in a database.

This, of course, has saved the enormous cost that would have been incurred if a centralized system was deployed.

It is because of this kind of cost-reduction that many entities will eventually migrate to Blockchain technology.

Blockchain Systems Always Maintain Data Integrity

When it comes to the integrity of data stored in a blockchain, the nodes always ensure that the data shared is accurate due to the availability of the public ledger that each node has in storage.

This leads to the immutability of the data stored within the ledger as once a record is created it can never be erased.

This also has created a scenario that centralized systems cannot match.

Centralized systems always run the risk of having alterations made  and this is one of the major problems that information security professionals always face as nefarious entities always try to change the data stored therein.

This leads to a rise in cost and creates the problem of trust because data integrity itself doesn’t exist within the blockchain.

This presents another opportunity for the seamlessness of transactions to occur once people can trust the ledger and not themselves.

This phenomenon is referred to as the trustless scenario.

Blockchain technology itself is one of man’s greatest inventions.

The use of blockchain technology can change how we see and interact with ourselves.

It also can create an open global society where the information within blockchain systems can be trusted due to the accuracy of the data stored within the decentralized ledger where everyone in the ecosystem has a copy or at least access to it.

This is how blockchain technology will take over the world.
