Design, functionality and usage has been the major driving factors for everything that happens online. The internet has made the world a global village where information can be shared across in a split second.
This web2 as know it is fueled and owned by a few minority and is plagued with censorship. The censorship and Middlemanship in running social activities has made the internet void of freedom and self governance.
Blockchain technology has however arrived to change all of that. By infusing the present internet we have with Blockchain. Blockchain is the technology fueling web3 and bringing back self governance and decentralization to the internet.
Many things now happen on-chain, and special thanks to Blockchain, anything that can be done online can be brought on-chain to improve transparency, decentralization and security.
Most crowdfunding are now done on-chain to improve transparency, gaming has now been brought on-chain to improve reward distribution.
Voting can now be done in a more transparent manner using Blockchain, organizations now use Blockchain technology to monitor supply chain.
Beyond the financial aspect of blockchain, the technology has now made on-chain to be the next online.
Though there are several setbacks towards adoption, but as with other technology, the once the utility is with the majority, adoption won't be a problem. This is why chain link is working on improving UX and interoperability amongst blockchain tech to foster adoption.
Protocols like zksync and zkEVM products are now aiding decentralization and anonymity with their zero knowledge of identity.
